Macro Diffraction
Calculate effective aperture and diffraction in macro photography
How to use Macro Diffraction
- 1Enter the radium (f value) and microrange magnification rate.
- 2Enter the sensor pixel spacing.
- 3Read the active radial and distillation fuzzies under this magnification.
The dissipation in micro-species.
Valid aperture = N x (1 + m); Fuzzy diameter [pixels] = 2.44 x λ × Effective aperture / pixel spacingThe active radial at micro-range increases to N × (1 + m), so that the ejaculation softens the image earlier than the normal distance.
That's why the micro-species are often used near full-open, strong light, not constricting.
** Micro-range photography has a cruel `effective radium' trap**: lens is marked f/8, with an actual radium at 1:1 magnification rate of only about f/16 (due to a decrease in intake due to peri-span in front of the lens,** effective = nominal radium x (1 + magnification rate)**). This has two consequences: (i) ** an additional 2 tranches to be added to the exposure ** (1:1 f/8 equals f/16); and (ii) ** a difticulation equals f/16 in advance ** — the nominal f/8 equals f/16.
So under 1:1 microspace: 1 light circle should not be less than the nominal f/8 (Equivalence f/16, distillation is already visible); 2 even if the f/8 depth is only about 0.7 mm,** the view must be synthesized in depth** (takes 10-30 photos of different focus, folds in Helicon Focus or Zerene Stacker); 3 requires a stable tripod, micro-map track (precision moving to focus), remote control or self-caption (avoiding hand shocks); 4 closes the tremors and pre-screasts. ** Micro-range is a typical scenario for "technology for physical limits" - – It is almost impossible for a single photo to get a big view and a high point at the same time. **
| Magnification | Named Aperture f/8 | Valid Aperture | Real depth |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1:10 (0.1×) | f/8 | About f/8.8 | About 15 mm |
| 1:4 (0.25×) | f/8 | Approximately f/10 | About 4 mm |
| 1:2 (0.5×) | f/8 | Approximately f/12 | About 1.6 mm |
| 1:1 (1.0×) | f/8 | About f/16 | About 0.7 mm |
| 2:1 (2.0×) | f/8 | Approximately f/24 | About 0.3 mm |
| 5:1 (5.0×) | f/8 | Approximately f/48 | About 0.1 mm |

Frequently asked questions
Why are the micro-ranges so limited by distillation?
The active radium is multiplied by (1 + magnification rate) and Aribet is increasing rapidly.
Should the radiant distance be enhanced by the radiant circle?
It is only desirable that there be only a small harvest; the benefits of the deep are very small and the losses are high, and the focus is suggested.
Best practice?
Guarantee sufficient light to be filmed near the sharper radial and for the focal stack.
Why do we need extra light at tv?
Because the active arctic is getting smaller (see table above). Camera photometry usually compensates automatically (as TTL photometry is the light actually reaching the sensor), so ** there is no manual compensation for TTL flashing or automatic exposure**; however, when using manual mode or external non-TTL flashing, a valid optical circle must be used. This is also why micro-species photographers prefer ** micro-species dedicated flashes or loop lamps** — at high magnification rates, even large radiances are required, and flashlights condensate the small movement of the insects (insects, droplets).
How do you do that?
Step 1: Cameras are fixed to a tripod or micro-range track, with tremors closed and focused manually; 2 Start with the nearest focus (the focus is at the front end of the subject) and take one; 3 Move camera with a track (or turn the focal ring, but change the magnification of the mobile phase, recommend the mobile camera) a little bit, take one more — ** ** Clear areas adjacent to the two-spaced areas are approximately 20% - 30% overlap **; 4 Repeat until the end of the subject is clear; 5 Use Helicon Focus (recommended, speed, algorithmic good) or Zerene Stack automatically synthesize; 6 Manual repair is often required after synthesis (Automate calculation is prone to error when dealing with hair, repeat texture). ** Key: All photographs must be exposed, white-balanced, and all images must be identical (full manual mode). **
