Add or subtract hours, minutes, and seconds

How to use Time

  1. 1Enter the time of the day, including hours, minutes, seconds.
  2. 2Toggle the display between 12 hours and 24 hours, if required.
  3. 3View the time after standardization and any converted format.

Read and convert clock time

24 hour = (12 hour mod 12) + time offset; 24:00 to zero

The clock time circulates every 24 hours, so 1300 and 1 p.m. are the same two at the same time.

Seconds and minutes in 60 digit, hour in 24 digit, and inflows can be maintained as valid time.

Time is converted by adding " Target Offset - Source Offset " to original time. For example, Beijing time (UTC+8) 14:00 is converted to New York (UTC-5): the deviation = −5 - 8 = −13, so 14:00 - 13 = 0100 the next day. If the result is negative, add 24 and record ** the previous day**; above 24, minus 24 and recorded as ** the following day** ** - The cross-Japan judgement is the most easily missed step of the handwritten time zone conversion.

** Summertime (DST) is the largest pit**: most parts of Europe and the United States speed up the clock by one hour in the summer, so New York Winter is UTC-5; Summer is UTC-4; and Beijing is between 12 and 13 hours. Europe began the last week of March and ended the last Sunday of October; North America started the second week of March and ended the first Sunday of November. ** China stopped summering after 1991**, so the year was full UTC+8, which is why the time difference with Europe and the United States changed half a year.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between 12 hours and 24 hours?

24 hours between 0 and 23 to avoid m/pm; 12 hours to divide a day into morning and afternoon.

2.30 p.m. How do you turn to 24 hours?

Pm hours after noon plus 12, received 14:30.

Why is the clock on 60?

Minutes and seconds are 60-plus, which is the old Babylon's practice to date.

How do international meetings avoid mistakes in time zones?

The most prudent approach would be: 1 to be agreed and indicated in the invitation by UTC time; 2 to be attached the IANA time zone name (e.g. Asia/Shanghai, America/New York) rather than the abbreviation (CST may refer to both Chinese standards and Central American time) and it would be misleading to use calendar invitations with time zones (.ics) to automatically convert the participant ' s calendar software. The words "3 p.m." have been verbally agreed to almost always go wrong in a time-zone scenario.

Why does China cross five geographical time zones and use only one?

China ' s geography extends from the Eastern Five (UTC+5) to the Eastern Nine (UTC+9), but Beijing Time (UTC+8) is the administrative arrangement established in 1949. The benefits are national harmonization of transport, communications, broadcasting hours and ease of coordination; the cost is about two hours between the actual daylight time and the clock in the western part of Xinjiang, where the "UTC+6" is often used as a reference.
