Hours

Calculate hours between two times or dates

How to use Hours

  1. 1Enter the time in the form of "hours + minutes " , or the hour value of a decimal.
  2. 2Select the direction of the conversion, e.g., hourly turn minutes, or decimal turn hh:mm.
  3. 3View the equivalent of your selected format.

Conversion of hours to minutes

Minute = hour x 60; decimal hour = hour + minute/60

60 On the index 1.5 hours is 1 hour 30 minutes instead of 1 hour 50 minutes; conversion is multiplied or divided by 60.

Ten-digit hour is easy to calculate wages and fees, while hh:mm is more intuitive when scheduling.

The core of the hour calculation is** to convert 60-decimal minutes into decimals**: minutes 60 = hour decimals. Common value suggested back: 15 minutes = 0.25, 20 minutes = 0.333, 30 minutes = 0.5, 40 minutes = 0.667, 45 minutes = 0.75. In turn, hour decimal x 60 = minutes. In the case of both, manual filling does not have to press the calculator each time.

Care should be taken in the period between the days 22:00 and the next day at 06:00 is 8 hours, but directly minus 6 - 22 = - 16. The correct approach is** to give an end time plus 24 hours over time** (6 + 24) - 22 = 8. The program is usually written using the date-time type (including the date part) rather than the pure time, allowing the system to automatically process the sky. This detail is the most prone to error when it comes to night shifts and working all night.

Frequently asked questions

1.5 hours equals 1:50?

Not at all. 1.5 hours is 1 hour 30 minutes, as 0.5 is half of 60 minutes.

How does 90 minutes translate to hour?

divided by 60 to receive 1.5 hours, or 1 hour 30 minutes.

Why do you have to use a decimal hour?

The use of decimal hours multiplied by the rate is simpler than the hh:mm and therefore the schedule is generally used.

Why do you have to use a decimal hour?

Because the additions and subtractions are divided by the decimals for direct operation. The correct algorithm is 50 x 7.75 = 387.5 yuan; if 7.45 is misused, only 372.5 yuan is less than 15 yuan. Long-term accumulation is a significant error and can lead to labour disputes. The regular attendance system and the payroll software are stored and calculated on a 10-digit hour basis, and are only restored to " time: minutes " at the time of presentation.

One hour equals how many seconds? Any exceptions?

The standard is 3600 seconds (60 x 60). The only exception is the day of the swirl, the last hour is 3601 seconds. This is extremely rare (on average 1.5 per year and only at UTC level), and daily calculations are entirely negligible, but high-precision scenarios such as astronomical observations and satellite timing must be considered.
