Unit conversion trap: same factor for length area size
A 100-fold gap between centimetres and metres and 10,000-fold gap between square centimetres and square metres is the most easily converted volume.
The unit conversion is a routine high frequency operation, but many apply the length factor directly to area and volume. One metre is equal to 100 centimetres, which is the length; but one square metre is equal to 100 per cent, i.e. 10,000 centimetres of centimetres, and the difference is square relationships. The volume is more exaggerated, with one cubic metre equal to 1 million cubic centimetres. Using an error dimension factor, the result is several orders of magnitude.

Speed and time trap
The common mistake is to use "kilometres per hour" directly as "metres per second". The correct approach is 1 km/h = 1000 m/ 3600 seconds ≈ 0.278 m/s. In such cases, which involve a simultaneous change between the two units, it is suggested that the formula should move step by step to avoid intuitiveness.
